[...] 9 Steps To Rockstar Marketing is good because it’s reasonably succinct, which I’m usually not. It kind of makes me sound like a marketing professional. Rereading it, though, I still say “asshole” at the end. Maybe not so professional after all. [...]

Great article of course...

#4 is the biggie for me. I can't count the number of times clients have wanted to diversify their look across numerous marketing materials. It's very hard describing the idea of a "brand identity" to those with smaller businesses. A lot of them don't understand the importance of it.

I love your explanation with the color blue. Mind if I use that in the future?!

@ Lorna - Thank you for the Stumble! I will bake you cookies if I ever meet you. (So not true. I will buy cookies and warm them up.)

@ Bill - Brilliant, as always. It's not enough to find a market niche. You have to find a VIABLE market niche.

@ Firewalker - Thanks for stopping by and commenting. It's great to see new faces!

@ Abbi - I love your flowers. If I ever get married in Minnesota, you're number one on my list. :)

I'm not confident enough to find niche for my site. It is a graphic design blog, but mixed with my personal blog. And I'm not consistent in my blog color. I think you have a very good point on consistency, people will remember your site as it was when they visited.

A variant of 8 is the idea that while you're selling what you want to sell, you have to sell what your customer wants to buy. If you want to sell books, but your customer wants to buy comic books, sell comic books... and work to expand the market.

At least, thats what I think.
