I work at a PR agency, and this is something my boss has been emphasizing to me. My only question is: You still have to mention the feature, though, right? Because if you don't, you lose credibility.

For instance, with the heaters thing, if you just said "Your house will be warm when you get home from work," won't today's savvy consumer want to know how and why that will happen? Today's savvy consumer is not just going to take your word that his or her home will be cozy by evening with this new heater. You have to explain that this is made possible through a timer.

You are my new hero. This is the funniest thing in the world. And it is so true - have you ever worked for a software company? Features, features, features have to be translated into benefits. Sometimes its tough to find a benefit in "ability to sort alphabetically" or "now with a check box instead of a button."

But, you have to tell us - Who makes those shoes?
