When I came to California from up state NY in 1979 I didn't know what espresso was. My girlfriend and I were total hicks. But we visited North Beach (the Italian district) in San Francisco shortly after arriving and walked into a bustling cafe and we were blown away by all the activity ....people were lined up for coffee drinks! We decided right there and then to go into the coffee business. We had just enough money to rent a 400 sq. ft. storefront and build a coffee bar out of barn wood. We knew nothing about the industry other than we liked what we saw and the smell of the coffee. Twenty eight years, and 15 coffee stores later, I can tell you one thing about deciding to get into business.....if your initial gut feeling is that it's good...then it is....and because we all know, at least all of us that are over 17 years old, that recessions are cyclical...then there is no better time than right NOW to follow your gut feeling! Now we have a new website for a new business and we are at the marketing stage, and my gut feeling tells me that Naomi is not a BSer.
