I Suck
Hey people,
A caring family member called to tell me that I was a bitch for not responding to her email, and it would seem that she is getting caught in spam. Heading over to my trusty spam folder, I see the rest of you are too. If I haven’t gotten back to you, sorry dudes. If it makes you feel any better, you’re in good company. It looks like I didn’t respond to Darren Rowse either.
I’m slogging my way through it now. In the meantime, happy Monday.
Lol. I wondered where you’d wandered off to! Glad it’s just that we’re all spammers instead of a crisis somehow.
I don’t use a spam filter on the home machine precisely because it always seems to catch email from people (like customers) I really need to hear from.
Then again, I’ve been known to nearly delete messages from customers with cryptic headers, thinking they are spam. We’re basically doomed.
Don’t feel too bad Naomi, it happens to the best of us (and it happens to me all the time too). Gmail’s spam filtering treats me pretty well, but the current bill-paying day job has a spam filter so awesome that it only seems to mark legitimate email as spam while doubling up the number of Russian stock schemes or whatever set of pills in my inbox.
S’ok, we’ve been having spam filter issues too. Such is life in the age of technology.
Happens to all of us at one time. Gmail is treating my account horribly at the moment, so I make sure to check my spam folder once a day (what’s the point of having a SPAM filter…).
If only it was as reliable as @Eric Stern’s … I would rename my SPAM folder to Inbox and vice versa ;)
I was (subconsciously) trying to hold the Men with Pens for ransom or something the other day, and NezSez seemed to have a similar problem with me…
It’s my fault guys, I blew up Akismet because I sound like an infomercial!

I used to have friends/family who would get up on a soapbox about this, to which my response was usually “Sod off, if its really that important, call me”
This is one of the sections of my life where I think friends and family should really know better, I get enough emails a day without having to sift through ones from people I could WALK to in less than an hour
The only people I forgive are my cousin in thailand, where you can hear the money burning down the phone line, and my uncle in canada, mostly because of the abuse i’d get if i tried to phone him at a “reasonable hour”. Then again they are stupidly patient people and wouldn’t care if an email got there late anyway!
You just motivated me to plunge into the tentacular depths of my spam folder… and recover 4 legitimate emails that should not have been in there. Thank you!
(And don’t worry too much about Darren, I’m sure he knows the feeling — if you need me to pass on a response/message to him, let me know.)

Ah, the reverse side of spam. You don’t suck, spam and spammers do. This is one of the devious side effects of garbage in your email. Like with real mail when something important gets stuck inside an ad and gets thrown out.
Those of us who love you will forgive you - especially those of us who hadn’t sent you any mail!

You don’t suck - quite the contrary, you’re pretty awesome! ;) Spam filters have messed me up a few times too.
But… I’ve sent a few emails since last week and haven’t heard back…. so I’m wondering if I’m caught in your spam again? If so, please check for me, lol! If not, and you just haven’t had a chance to get back to me, that’s ok too - I can wait my turn, lol. Just wanted to be sure you saw me.
