In Which I Confess My Blog Crush And You Could Win Something Awesome

I have a confession to make. I have a crush on Leo Babauta. Now, disclosing this little juicy morsel in such a public fashion is probably unwise. It shows my hand and significantly lessens the chance that he will ever allow me to guest post on his blog. It might make things awkward, us being in love and all. However, dear readers, I have promised to be honest with you and honest I will be.

Leo, who is currently in the running for best overall blog of 2007 in the Performancing Blog Awards and will likely be in the same category for the Bloggies, wrote an ebook. I like it. A lot. Well, I’ve only read the first 20 pages and it’s 83 pages long. It might suddenly start to suck on page 32, but I doubt it.

Anyway, because I’m a total moron, I managed to screw up downloading an ebook and I emailed the new love of my life for help and he fixed it, cause he’s cool like that. The result of which is that I now have an extra copy to give away. Ebooks don’t make the best stocking stuffers and I will have singlehandedly stopped the commercialism of Christmas by next year anyway, so there won’t be anything to stuff.

So… I’m giving it away to one of you lucky readers. What do you have to do? Link to any of the individual marketing school posts (you’ll know them cause they’re tagged “marketing school”), or to the marketing school starting page. Easy peasy. This way you can win both Leo’s ebook and my undying affection, and my Technorati ranking will go up. I figure if I keep this shit up I can beat Gizmodo by Easter.

If you don’t want to contribute to my evil Technorati plans, you should probably get the book anyway. (That’s not an affiliate link. Click at will.) Why? First of all, Leo is awesome and deserves your ten bucks. Second of all, I’m only a quarter of the way in and I feel calmer already. If it can make me calm, it can make you Mother bloody Teresa.

You have till Sunday, January 13th. The winner will be decided via an undisclosed method. (This is a euphemism for “I haven’t figured out how I’m going to pick a winner yet.”) If you say something nice about me or Marketing School, it probably won’t hurt your cause, though. And let’s face it, you were going to buy the book anyway. You may as well win it.

  2. If there is one book that I fully believe I should own, it’s this one. I also think Harry would thank you and probably send you a case of Shiraz, because his current workload mostly involves keeping me on track and making sure I do what I’m supposed to.

  3. I’m probably going to buy a copy of this myself. Hubby and I have been implementing GTD the past few months, so I’ll be interested in how the book works with that. I saw a good review from Greg Go on Wise Bread the other day too (http://www.wisebread.com/zen-to-done-your-fieldguide-for-getting-a-handle-on-your-life ) and Leo’s blog rocks, so it must be pretty damn good overall.

  5. Thanks, guys! I’m still reading. It’s still good.

I had to physically restrain myself from opening my email in the middle of reading it, three times, but that’s progress, right? I mean, I did it, didn’t I?

  7. @ Kate - Don’t worry. Technorati doesn’t care if you have readers or not. :)

Glad I could pass ZH along. If you’re not reading Leo, you’re only hurting yourself. Especially check out the stuff he did near the beginning of 2007. Wickedly awesome.

  8. Ooh! Me! Me! LOL.

I actually linked to some of the Marketing School posts on one of my Friday Find posts a few weeks ago (we emailed about it, too :) ).

Does that count as an entry, or do I need to re-link to you, lol?

Funny thing is, I just linked to a Zen Habit post yesterday, too! I don’t know where I’ve been, but I only recently stumbled upon his site recently.

I just purchased and started reading GTD after Christmas. Goodness knows I can use all the help I can get. ;) I saw the Zen to Done ebook and think I started drooling a bit, lol. That would be awesome to have a copy of.

Anyway, thanks in advance for the chance to win (assuming my old post counts as an entry… if not, I’m gonna have to get creative and re-link to you!) :)
