SEO School is Now In Session

Hey everybody,

So it’s 1:30 Monday morning and Jamie and I are going to bed after successfully launching our ebook SEO School. If you would like to check it out, click here. If you don’t want to read all the sales copy you can just scroll down to the bottom.

Thanks all, more on this later when I am more lucid.

PS- If you do decide to purchase the ebook, when you get to the page that asks if you have a discount code, enter “MovingDay” (no quotes) to get $9 off. I’ll explain later.

  1. Sold to the lady still in her dressing gown at 10.30 in the morning!

This is the first ebook I’ve ever bought (despite loving the internet I’m still an old-fashioned flick through the pages before I buy gal) and I probably wouldn’t buy from anyone but you… I just hope there’s a lot of swearing in it!

  4. Very cool! Excellent. Hopefully you will make a million off of this. Or better yet, help the rest of us to make a million.

  5. sold and read. I wasn’t planning on buying that fast. I had another one I needed to get first ( Sorry Pen Men, she sucked me in…)
But when I clicked on it, you had me at the first page and I was fascinated. Read the whole darn thing straight through. And I JUST got done commenting how much I HATE reading long things on the computer!

As a TOTAL Techie newbie, I didn’t know ANY of that stuff. Including what SEO stood for. I know I have to read it at least three more times…but I feel like a whole new world just opened up.

Oh and Naomi.., it was coffee for me…I’m not drunk writing this either.
It was a great book. Thanks.

  6. Fast easy purchase with fun sales letter (and sweet discount — thanks!) (Who modeled for your ninja/monk/7-11 robber?)

Keep us posted on the lessons learned putting out a e-book — thanks!

  7. SEO is such a snake oil market.

  8. [...] has recently come to my attention in the comments of my first SEO School post that SEO is snake oil. Thank you to that commentator, because you just gave me a new selling point. [...]

  9. I bought it so fast that I missed the discount! (I’m sure it’ll be worth every penny though.) : )

Now, if I could just get the baby to sleep so I can read it….

  10. SEO is a snake oil market. So is the used car market, coins, stamps and many other collectibles.

However, there honest used car lots, honest old coin dealers, and honest SEO firms.

Honestly, when I first saw this I was a little surprised. I can’t imagine Naomi really knows much about SEO because she’s not a techy type. However, when I read her pitch, I see she’s aiming at beginners: those of you that don’t yet have a clue. Her intent seems to be to bring you up to speed and if the book is anything like the rest of her writing, you’ll have a lot of fun getting there.

Like the “snake oil” commenter, I get annoyed by a lot of SEO nonsense written by people without technical knowledge. Really, 99% and more of what you need to know can be found at Google’s http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/ : I’d definitely recommend scouring those pages.

Nevertheless, Naomi is probably a lot more fun to read (disclaimer: haven’t read it, for all I know it’s full of technical inaccuracies and is as boring as watching goldfish. Somehow I doubt that).

  11. Biiiiiig point to be made.

Yes, I can find a great deal of information by scouring pages.

But I gladly pay out of my own pocket for other people to do the scouring for me and present it in a way that saves me time so I can focus on the billable hours & site optimization.

(That said, Tony, thanks for the link. I’m sure I actually will scour those pages at some point, didn’t know they were there.)

3 cheers to Tony, BTW - like James Chartrand, one of my favorite commenters because he can be 100% opposed to a post and still have a comment that’s very constructive. Rare breed.

    Back to work …

  12. Oh, I’m not opposed. As I said, I think Naomi may not be saying anything you can’t find elsewhere, but she’ll be saying it concisely and with humor. That’s worth paying for.

  13. Oh, sorry - I realized you’re not opposed to this post, I’m just saying in general, you do a good job of keeping things constructive when you’re not agreeing with a post or comment.

    Most people just bitch/whine/snipe :-)
