You Shop, I’ll Throw Up
Still puking my fool guts out. In the meantime, please check out Tanya’s art. This woman is disgracefully talented and is clearly out of her damn mind for charging $20 a pop for these babies on Etsy.
Click here, be blown away. (No, she’s not a client and she hasn’t given me any free stuff.)
Back to puking. Ugh.

Sorry about the throwing up! Morning sickness can @#%@! It was horrid for me the past two days… and at 16weeks when it should be gone. I think I finally kicked it. For me it was dehydration. Once I was hydrated again I started feeling a billion times better. Just passing it on in case it helps. I drank a pint of wonton soup and 2 huge cups of orange juice tea with honey. Tonight I had an entire pot of lipton noodle soup when I felt it starting to hit again. For some reason nice plain water tastes gross to me…. but either sweet&sour or salty seems to go down ok (HUGS)
Otherwise in my first pregnancy I survived with ginger altoids. They tasted vile but tossing one in my mouth would save me from being sick. I kind of figured my body was screaming “I surrender. Just stop feeding me that and you can feel good.”
Sorry about your morning sickness. I feel your pain today as I have some food poisoning this weekend and going to doctor today. The bad part about morning sickness is that you’ll have it for awhile where I can probably get some relief today. Hang in there! It will all be worth every minute of it. Babies are the best thing in life!
I wanted to make a comment on Tanya’s work. It is fun, loose and she has a fantasy touch to every piece. That’s hard to come by. Over the years I’ve represented artist both in the graphic and fine art worlds. I do have a bit of an eye for work and know when someone is not valuing their own talent. I feel that she should raise her pricing little by little and see if she results in bigger sales. At this price, she might be free to paint away and just see if someone hits on it but surely it must take her longer than a half hour to do these things. If not, then ok but if so, I feel the work should be priced according to an hourly rate at least. In the fine art world, you put together a series, call it a name and price it accordingly to the size and medium. There is art out there that is overpriced everywhere. But, when you consider the time it takes you, your concept is different from someone else as well as the hand that produces it, you should value that. Hence, my last word to Tanya - You are great, hon. Keep it up and raise it up!

you know.. just fyi.. having hit this blog entry while scanning across your site, it comes across quite backwards. I take it after reading the post and the comments again that you are/were actually sick. However, the way the blog post entry reads, it sounds like the art is making you throw up. and… that charging $20 for it is crazy for stuff that makes you throw up. You shop, I’ll throw up = “if you buy this, it makes me nauseous”.
Anyhow, just how I took it at first until I looked at the art and thought, “what?? these are pretty intense and a lot of work, what is that blog talking about - and why is it downplaying someone’s art in the first place??”. I started questioning my interest in your blog. …and then decided to come back to read the comments to see what other people thought of your “daming of the art”, only to find out you are actually sick and the art is something you were saying is great.
Hey Darcy,
Looking back at it, I realize you’re right. If one hadn’t seen the previous few posts, that would look pretty brutal. Thanks for the tip, and for stopping by to leave a comment!
